In this committee, Delegates will take on the roles of Iran’s senior statesmen at one of the most important periods in Iranian history. The Shah, Reza Pahlavi had seized power and declared himself Shah a little less than 15 years prior to the events of the committee. Since taking power, the new Shah and his cadre have declared their objective to be the restoration of Iran to its former glory, and to achieve this they have set about implementing a wide-scale array of reforms which touch upon every aspect of Iranian society. When the committee starts, many of these reforms have been implemented but there is much work to be done to transform Iran into a powerful, modern and independent nation as envisioned by its Shah. The committee will decide what course to take this ancient and glorious nation as they attempt to reclaim their place in an ever-changing world with crisis after crisis emerging to test their resolve and commitment to preserving and restoring their nation to greatness. Aside from domestic concerns, the delegates will have to forge a path for their country in the international community with powerful imperial vultures fixing their eyes on Iran with its vast strategic value. Iran will face many choices. Who will they ally with? Who will they oppose? Will they have the strength to ward off colonial influence? While the rest of the world descends into war and anarchy will they be able to keep the war from their beloved homeland or will they too be drawn into the greatest conflict the world has ever seen? The fate of Iran hangs in the balance.
